Stevia is a natural sweetener which is processed from
the herbal plant "Stevia Rebaudiana". Native of Paraguay
and Brasil in the Amanbay Highlands, the Stevia leaves are 20 to 30 times
sweeter than cane sugar . When it is refined into a white powder extract ,
it becomes 200 to 300 times sweeter , creating an intense effect upon the
tastebuds without raising blood sugar levels. Today, China grows 80% of the
world's Stevia leaf.

Stevia is non caloric and non toxic. It does not
ferment and is considered suitable for diabetics. Stevia has excellent
stability in pH , salt, acidic and high temperature conditions making it an
ideal sugar substitute for cooking and baking. In Asia, Stevia is used in a
thousand food and beverage formulations. Stevia is a proven alternative to
sugar , aspartame , saccharin and other synthetic sweeteners.
